Daniel loves working on projects involving natural environments—through his work, he’s able to help the environment and communities within them. As a senior environmental scientist with our Flora and Vegetation team, Daniel leads a variety of botanical projects, from extensive surveys to ongoing monitoring programs, often in remote locations.
Daniel is well-known for his technical skills in flora identification, vegetation mapping, geographic information system (GIS), specimen and data management. His expansive knowledge supports clients with government approvals processes, assessments of potential environmental impact, and regulatory controls and conditions to manage and conserve significant environmental values. Recently, he managed an ongoing flora, vegetation, and tree health assessment in the remote Paraburdoo region of Western Australia, collaborating with Elders and Rangers from the Indigenous community. A highlight? Learning traditional uses of native flora.
Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports, listening to music, and travelling.
