As a principal hydro mechanical engineer, Tom is based out of Christchurch, New Zealand and works daily to provide tangible value to the clients and communities he serves. He has over 30 years’ experience in the conception, planning, design and implementation of conventional hydro-electric power and pumped storage projects, as well as the refurbishment of existing ones.
With a strong track record in providing advisory services to a wide range of international clients, Tom’s professional background has grown to include banks, utilities, and private sector companies. His hydro mechanical experience spans the design, specification, tendering, engineering and evaluation of new schemes and upgrade projects.
Tom has conducted dam safety, plant condition and due diligence assessments, and asset valuations on a national scale in a number of countries. He also has particular experience with hydraulic gates, prospecting for hydropower schemes using GIS and ‘small’ hydro.
