As a senior mechanical designer, Blake produces 3D models and 2D drawings for energy and resources projects. This includes the layout of plants, designing equipment and mentoring junior drafters. He also maintains the computer-aided design (CAD) systems, assists other designers and drafters, and helps CAD environments run smoothly.
Blake is adept at pulling together a 3D layout model quickly, producing a major viewing tool that enables the client to quickly visualise a concept. He says drafting is an essential component of the process—without it the client doesn’t have any physical deliverables to build to.
When he’s not working with 3D models, Blake likes to take his family away for adventures in the caravan. He’s also a car enthusiast, spending time working on, maintaining, cleaning, and driving his pride and joy.
