As terrestrial ecology team leader for New South Wales (NSW), Dane loves flexing his ecology muscles and getting out in the field, identifying threatened plant communities, flora, and fauna species. With over six years of experience in the environmental Industry, his focus is on providing advice aimed to create positive outcomes for biodiversity matters in Australia.
In NSW, Dane is an accredited assessor and has extensive experience in applications of the Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) and preparation of biodiversity assessment reports. A career highlight was supporting the identification and implementation of koala exclusion fencing in vehicle strike hotspots along the Nepean River biodiversity corridor. Together, Dane and his team made sure the fence design maintained fauna connectivity between habitats and reduced fauna mortality.
When he is not investigating flora and fauna, you might find Dane hitting a few balls on the golf course. Otherwise, he loves spending time with his family at the beach, going on nature walks and taking trips to the zoo.
